Spanish Placement Test
The placement exam in Spanish is an online multiple-choice format exam; it consists of questions on
communication, grammar, reading and listening comprehension. There is no oral part to the exam. Since it is a computer-adaptive test, the length varies from one individual to another, with the average time being one hour and 30 minutes. Please supply all the information required by the Language Background part before the test starts and read/follow the given instructions.
The scores and the language background data will be used to place students into the appropriate level of Spanish. The test is only for course placement to determine the student's proficiency in Spanish. No credit will be given. To receive the credits for intermediate levels students need to take the Spanish Proficiency Exam. The Spanish Placement test helps instructors balance their classes with students at the same level and at the same time, it helps faculty advisors to plan educational programs.
Eligibility
The Lee Spanish Placement test has been designed to satisfy Lee student's needs, but this does not exclude the community from using this source. It is important to contact the test administrator to
schedule
an appointment.
Only test-takers with some or no knowledge of Spanish, who have
NOT
yet taken a Lee University Spanish course, are permitted to take the Spanish placement test.
Test-takers can take this test only
ONCE
during an academic testing cycle.
Some exceptions may be made for students who have acquired more knowledge of this language elsewhere after completing the placement test.
Conditions
The test-taker must promise to complete this test as accurately and honestly as possible. Besides, demonstrating a level that is not his or her own won't benefit the student when in the assigned class. It would instead waste the student's time and will affect the registration process.
Students need to understand that there are no special topics to study before the test, as we want to diagnose your Spanish level at the moment.
Students must understand that this test won't give any credits.
Student needs a computer station with audio capability to complete the listening section.
Schedule
Test-takers have the option of taking this test on these days:
April 24 at 8:00 AM. Room WMB 101
August 14 at 4:00 PM. Room TBA.
Students do not need to sign up in advance to take the test but they need to arrive in time to be enrolled.
Spanish Placement Testing is available on Angel which implies that test-takers will have to see the test administrator to be enroll and take the test.

Results and Class Registration

Students need to take this certificate to the Registrar Office for enrollment purposes.
